Special Notice: Appointment-Only Services Available During Thanksgiving Week
The Mission of Hope Emergency Food Pantry will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, allowing our volunteers and staff to spend the holiday with their families. We encourage our community members to plan ahead for their food needs during this special week.
If you require food assistance during Thanksgiving week, please get in touch with us at (839) 228-7691 to schedule an appointment. Our team is dedicated to ensuring everyone has access to the support they need, even during the holiday season. Thank you for being so understanding. We wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him (2 Chronicles 16:9). God is continually searching for people who desire Him as deeply as He wants them.
The Original Relationship
In the beginning, God created a garden for Adam and Eve. He placed them there, instructed them to care for it, and gave them a single command to follow. Within this perfect setting, God walked and talked with Adam and Eve—they experienced His presence intimately. Like Adam and Eve, our Creator gave us a spirit so that His Spirit can connect with ours. God’s intention was for His creation to love Him as much as He loved them.
The Fall and God’s Promise
However, as the story goes, Adam and Eve—who represent all of humanity—made a mistake that led to their expulsion from the garden. The details of this can be found in Genesis chapters 1 through 3. Even though their actions created a permanent separation for all humankind, the narrative does not end there. God promised to resolve this separation by sending Jesus, who would show us the way back to God. The story of God’s love did not stop in the garden—it continues today.
God’s Ongoing Call
God is still searching for those who will listen and respond to His call to return to Him. Each of us feels a longing—a deep yearning in our hearts that we try to satisfy in different ways. We might believe a new job, a new car, or the perfect relationship will fill that void. Yet, none of these things can meet our deepest needs.
Finding Peace Through Jesus
This is where Jesus enters our story. He offers peace with God through the message of His love. The only thing that can truly satisfy your soul is a restored relationship with God. From personal experience, I spent years searching and trying to fill the hunger within me, but nothing worked until I opened my heart to Jesus. When I asked Him to forgive my sins and make me right with God, I experienced a peace that I had never felt before.
Your Invitation
You can experience this peace with God if you desire it. Look up—God is searching for you. If you seek Him, He will find you and you Him.

At MOH, in Cayce, SC, we value creative skills and unique interests, which allow for a diverse range of volunteer opportunities and ensure a perfect fit for everyone.
Our Emergency Food Pantry serves hundreds of families each week with bags of groceries. We need helpers to drive and pick up food donations from local stores and restaurants on wee days. Sort items to shelves and cooling units, pack the grocery bags for clients or assist with office-type duties. Here’s what one of our volunteers likes about working here.
The Cayce Thrift Store offers endless opportunities to assist customers. Organize the inventory, create eye-appealing displays, and design spaces for an optimal shopping experience.
Maybe you prefer to contribute behind the scenes and enjoy keying client visits into the database or light office duties such as filing applications, copying, or making calls to clients.
If you enjoy leading projects, our list includes light landscaping, an outdoor pavilion, and purge and repurpose rooms to fill the growing ministry. There’s always something to do in our facilities.
Do you blog, take pictures, and love social media? Drop by our ongoing operations to see what’s happening and post information, events, and the latest good news about how God works in people’s lives.
Volunteer opportunities within our program services are available part-time, one or more days each week.
